From 2023 Growing Redhill has been a formal station partner at Reigate Station in Surrey. We tend large flower planters on both platforms and created a linear flower border along the railings. We also had hanging baskets installed.
On Sunday 7 June 2026, we badged our activities as part of Community Rail Week 2026. Three of us did the activity and this included two new volunteers. They both said how lovely it was to see what happened at Reigate Station and how much they enjoyed meeting our organisers and getting the project started for this year.
Two members of the public at the station said how lovely it was to see the spring bulbs and are looking forward to seeing them in flower over the summer.
Other notable occasions included the Kings Coronation in May 2023, when we celebrated with special planting.
We’ve welcomed a relationship with Bell House Place, one of Millsted Care's homes. It is an assisted living service whose adult residents join in our station partner activities to help realise their potential. This supplements our small numbers of ongoing volunteers at Reigate and Merstham stations.
We have good relationships with station staff and rail passengers often comment on how nice the station looks and how it brightens their day.
